Blowzone is the community wind band for Tavistock in West Devon.

It was founded by Steve Smith in September 1999 to give all wind instrument players in the local area an opportunity to play as a group.

Peter Jones took over as musical director in 2009.

Blowzone has a varied repertoire for all ages and abilities and encourages members to improve skills and confidence as well as supporting smaller ensembles within the group.

Many of the other music groups in Tavistock started as offshoots of the Wind Band and now meet for their own rehearsals.
